Jane Norman, BA (Hons), MA, is a photojournalist who has worked in the Far East and the UK, after studying photography at West Surrey College of Art & Design, Farnham.

Based in Dorset, her forte is photographing people of all ages, people and their pets, whether they are cats, dogs, hamsters or Show Champion at the Gillingham & Shaftesbury Show - capturing the everyday, to life's celebrations. Her images have been described as 'emotive, enlightening and fun'.

People may recognise her work from the 'old' Blackmore Vale Magazine, and its sister publication, Stour & Avon Magazine where she was photographer for more than ten years, photographing everything from 106th birthdays to Royal visits to county events - whatever the weather. Sadly, the publications folded in 2020 due to Covid.

Some of her recent (and continuing) work includes projects with The Society of Dorset Men, Dorchester Community Church Food Share project, Claire Myers Pilates, the West Dorset Vintage Tractor & Stationary Engine Club, and as a contributor with Art in Poundbury - photographing artists behind the scenes, exhibition set-ups and events, as well as creating the group's exhibition posters.

More recently she's one of four art friends who have set up Dorset Art Girls - where they plan to exhibit their very different work together, inspired by and created in Dorset - bringing in other seasoned and new-to-the-scene artists to show their work too. They've just held their first group exhibition which was very successful - and there are plans for more!
